Born into a family of talented singers, Di’ta Monique has carried the torch in a way that has continued to make her family proud. Hailing from Rochester, New York, she continues to be a long-time hometown favorite. Her vocal and theatrical talent has been a catalyst for her to perform on stages across the globe. In her travels, Di’ta Monique has made an indelible mark on the music landscape. One of the selected individuals, who are able to transcend the limitations that frequently pigeonholes creative artist. The versatile, Rochester, NY - born woman has consistently demolished the notion that she is “just another Songstress.” Indeed, the description “Vocalist” is far more applicable Di’ta Monique, as she is one of the nations Top Female Vocalist. Pronounced “dead” at seven months due to smoke inhalation (house fire), and revived at the hospital, Di’ta has been called by many as the “Miracle Child”. The only survivor of two siblings from the fire this “Miracle Child” has been singing since the age of 3, and mesmerizing thousands for many years thereafter. Di’ta has had the pleasure to perform or work with the likes of Jodeci, Lil G from the R&B group Silk, Avery Sunshine, Kim Burrell, Melba Moore, Trina Braxton, Edwin Hawkins, Yolanda Adams, Shirley Murdock, Marvin Sapp, Mississippi Mass Choir, Cab Calloway, the Winans, Charles Fountain, the Five Blind Boys, just to name a few.
Dita was one of the lead soloists on the Edwin Hawkins Music and Art Seminar album, as well as, one of the featured soloists on Edwin Hawkins’ 1998 CD entitled “Love Is the Only Way”. She can also be heard on the “Young Artist for Christ” album, which she composed and sang one of the tracks. Di’ta has toured in Europe with Edwin Hawkins, sang at many concerts, conferences, events, and churches nationally, and has developed a fan base that just wants to hear her voice more, and more.
Her vocal and creative range makes it difficult to put her into any one box. Although she would not classify herself in anyone genre, she is known most for her rich vocal tones that are a blend of jazz, gospel, R&B and soul. She is not your average vocalist!
Di’ta demonstrates her skills not only by singing, but she is also a songwriter, actress and Play write.
Her missions is to create a trend setting, market-leading product that discovers and promote cutting edge artists, actors/actresses, models, writers, and producers while providing consumers with the highest quality of entertainment.
Her vocal abilities and creativity combined with star quality charisma has made her one of the real gems in the world of theater. Because of her magnificent talent, she has toured nationally with Off – Broadway plays and landed the leading role on several occasions
